Virrad will combine a learning environment with a virtual community. Radiopharmacy students will be able to participate in formal learning processes, but also engage in open discussions and knowledge exchange within the virtual community. Through a variety of community services learners should be supported to take the step from a protected learning space to become part of the professional Radiopharmacy community of practice. One of the key elements of VirRAD is the Virtual laboratory environment. This 3D simulation of a radiopharmacy laboratory should not only serve as visualisation aid of radiopharmacy procedures, but serve as a focal point, where learners and community members can meet and discuss topical issues. The virtual environment will be accessable both from structured courses and the open community.
